Aubergenie · a recipe app for iPhone, iPad and Mac
Every recipe you love, ready to cook.
Photograph a card, paste a link or say what you fancy. Each one becomes a recipe you can cook tonight.
Free to try, in Apple's TestFlight app. Places are few, so this opens an email to hello@aubergenieapp.com: a line about what you cook helps, and we reply either way.
Satay Chicken
35 min · Serves 4 · Thai
Find it. Save it. Make it.
However a recipe reaches you, it lands as one clean page: amounts, steps and timers, ready to cook.
Paste a link. Most recipe sites publish their recipe in a form the app can read, so it is copied on your device exactly as written. No account, no AI. Photograph a handwritten card or a cookbook page and Aubergenie AI copies it out as written, for you to check before you save. Photograph the dish and it suggests how to make it. You'll sign in with Apple first. Write your own. No account, no AI, and it works offline.

Saved to Recipes
What should I cook tonight?
Two ways to answer it: ask for something new, or pick from what you've already saved.
Say what you fancy.
Type a dinner and Aubergenie AI writes the whole recipe, around the allergies, diet and servings you've saved. It can get this wrong, so if you have an allergy, check every ingredient and label yourself.

Aubergenie's cloud AI runs only when you ask, with Sign in with Apple; the recipes are written by Anthropic's Claude on Aubergenie's server. Switch it off in Settings and everything else still works. Recipes it writes use an allowance you can see in the app.
Or pick from your own.
Your own library, with the app's filters. One tap narrows it to what you can face tonight. These nine are from ours.

Plan the week.
Put meals on days, or let Plan My Week suggest them from the recipes you've saved. Leftovers land on the days they'll be eaten, and Today shows what's next.

-
Shop one list.
Everything for the week, merged and in aisle order. Tick things off in the shop; with iCloud on, the list follows you between your own Apple devices.

Cook in big type.
One step at a time, and a timer wherever the recipe says so. With alarms allowed it rings even when your iPhone is locked, and shows in the Dynamic Island on iPhones that have one. On a Mac, timers arrive as notifications.
Mix the chicken with 100ml coconut milk, the curry powder, 1 tbsp red curry paste and 1 tbsp soy sauce. Leave to marinate for 10 minutes.

Up next: Meanwhile, add the remaining 300ml coconut milk, peanut butter, remaining 1 tbsp red curry paste, remaining 1 tbsp soy sauce, honey and the juice of half the lime to a small saucepan. Cook over a low heat for 5 minutes, stirring regularly, until smooth and glossy.
Send recipes, not screenshots.
Photo, amounts, method and timers, in one file. A friend with Aubergenie saves it in a tap. Anyone else gets a picture or the text.
Your recipes stay on your devices and in your own iCloud. No ads, no tracking. Your name travels with a recipe only when you switch that on.

It opens in Aubergenie exactly as you sent it, with one button: Save Recipe. The recipe is theirs to cook, change and send on.
Glad to help. Pull up a chair.
Try the beta.
Aubergenie is in beta, free to try through TestFlight, Apple's app for trying apps before they reach the App Store. We're letting people in a few at a time, because each tester's AI recipes cost us to write, so tell us a little about what you cook. Bringing your own recipes with the AI switched off is just as welcome.
Rather wait? Tell me when it's out.
